Foggy
Posted By: roy, 11-25-2006, 05:17 PM

we seldomly get fog so yesterday when we did i headed out to the lake. finding the fog on the ground was tough and it wasn't as thick as i wanted. anyway , my first fog shoot..

i took some artistic license with these two. actually it's just a wrong white balance..

C & C always welcome.

Fog has such an 'edge of the earth' quality. I especially like the ducks on the slough.

I really like these Roy. Especially that second one, it has a real eerie feel to it. .

I really hesitate to make suggestions as I'm just a newbie to photography, and I hope you don't mind if I suggest a crop as the foreground is much clearer and not as soft appearing

Here's a small copy with the lines for the crop I had in mind if you want to play with it.

I didn't want to post a crop myself as it is your photo and up to you.
Again, very nice series of shots.

Yeah, nice foggy shots. I would love the heron to be included into the crop in the 2nd shot as scott has suggested though. To have heron included in the foreground.

i like the egret in the foreground also. this had already been cropped about 20% but i'll play with it some more. i like to stay at the cams native 3:2 ratio tho.

Hi Roy,
Actually I like the crop the way it is. The only thing I would do is clone out the little branches on the right edge.

Nice job.

alan,
i thought i had. there were quite a few there and i must have missed the very edge. the 'print' file does not have them.
