SA Pentaxians at the Fringe Parade
Posted By: UltraWide, 02-23-2010, 03:15 AM

The SA Pentaxians were at it again last Friday at the Adelaide Fringe opening parade.

Conditions were difficult and a brilliant decision led 'contre-jour' shooting until the sun sank below the surrounding buildings. Showed a bit of 'flair' with some

There's always someone sticking their nose in ...

Got the skates on...

Up close and personal...

Lamenting the loss of small theatres...

And what's a show without....

All shot with the K7 and FA*24 and the 540FGZ.

Exciting images there.
Brilliant colour and contrast in them all.
And beautifully balanced with fill-flash - perhaps a little too much with some of the results here, but they all capture the life and passion of the day.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Thanks Ash
Getting the flash balance right shooting into a setting sun was not without it's headaches. Contast between light and shadow made framing somewhat difficult. Too much sun caused too much flare and the shadows resukted in too much flash.
Must find a better location next time. Not too easy with a crowd of 80000+.

Terrific street shots of what looks like a lot of fun. I saw another post that featured big inflated space men associated with the Fringe festival - could you tell us what that's about - perhaps a Mardi Gras-type shindig?

Yeah Wynston! You really chose the most difficult spot with that sunset....

But some good captures never-the-less!

Another interesting night for SA Pentaxians as you say! Despite the crowds......

....who obviously came to see a star....

....and the Stig's distant cousin....

We'll have to get to the Festival Northern Lights next.

BTW Adrian, my wife spotted you and the family at one stage - sorry if we missed you.

Cheers

Some great shots in there Mark - that Kx is a low light master!

Next week I'd like to catch the Northern Lights - anyone interested?

Cheers
