I can already taste the honey .

Off topic - I have a super takumar f/1.4 50mm. Do you think with a 2x macro tele I can achieve the same magnification as yours?
50mm is 50mm so yes you would get the same magnification, as long as you were using a 1:1 macro teleconverter.

What brand is your 2x Macro tele ?
I have the Vivatar 2x Macro Focusing Teleconverter. It works great, but you have to remember that since it's a 2x teleconverter you cut the light in half, so you lose 2 stops.

Wonderful macros here, very crisp, great colors. Only thing needed now is to get the flash off camera and make for some extra cool lighting!
Thank you Chris, Yes I do need to get off camera flash. I know it will make a huge difference in my macros.

Excellent!
Flash query on photo? To me, well done flash or no flash! Be proud of your efforts.
One question, you mention 2X Macro telecon. Excuse my naivity, is a "MACRO" telecon a different one to an ordinary 2X telecon (or 1.4X)??
Thanks and congrats.

The Vivitar 2X focusing "MACRO" telecon is a combination of a 2x teleconverter with, if you will, extension tube. you rotate a focus ring and it moves the lens out away from the body like an extension tube does. at it's max rotation it extends out to make your lens a 1:1 Macro. it is also a 2x telecon, has lens elements. So my 50mm becomes a 100mm. And with since it's a 2x telecon it also cuts the lite in half so the 1.4 is a perfect mate to it. However at 1:1 macro it has a very narrow DOF, that's why flash becomes important, need to stop it down to widen the DOF.

I hope this helps
