Wow - amazing detail with this setup. The Pentax really shines at both infinity and close focus.
Well done Gus.

Man, Gus - I'm glad I bought this lens. Now, since I don't mind looking dumb (I'm used to it), I'll ask: what is a raynox quarter? Is that a telextender?

Gorgeous!!! What an awesome moon Damn, I wish I'd been able to snag that good deal on the K-x 50-300mm kit, but it got away I'm more and more impressed by the DA L 50-200mm and your shot with the 300mm confirms it for me - these DA L telephotos are damn nice

My feelings exactly Ash, I was surprised at the moon detail because there was some high clouds drifting thru...

Jer, sorry that was poorly written.. The Raynox 250 or 150 are those macro adaptors that clip on to the front of the 55-300... If you end up getting one I would opt for the 150 as they are easier to use, with a little more focus distance and a bit more dof.

Definitely the tripod... I am not that good at handholding!!! I think it was Av > Live view > Manual focus (with magnified view) > Spot metering > F 13 or F11

The 50-200 is a fine lens... I used mine all the time as my hiking/ go anywhere/ consistently good AF lens. I do like the extra reach of the 300mm

This K-x has really surprised me with what it can do looking at some of the shots it has produced. I'd be very happy with the moon shot. Good work mate.

Absolutely brilliant!

That 55-300 really is great - the detail is superb. How much of a crop was it BTW? But your right about sharpness at 300 - some have said its soft, but what you've produced here contradicts that brilliantly.

I've had LBA for it and I think you've confirmed it. Thanks!

Cheers
