FOG SHROUDED "LOBSTA" BOATS
Lens: 18-250 Camera: K20D Photo Location: SAUGUS RIVER ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/20s
Posted By: charliezap, 02-25-2010, 02:56 PM

My morning commute takes me by the lobster fleet in Saugus Ma.It was dark 6:27am and foggy and i decided to shoot from the hip and grab a few hand held shots at around 1/20 sec f/4. @800 ISO. I played with some to give me a different effect and some of them look good on this end when i view them at 10mb.I was only down at the river for about 5mins.If i waited 10-15min more the pics would be maybe better --maybe worse--who knows. I tried the hdr feature and illustrate for the first time just to see what it does.--Charliezap

The first three are a little noisy for me, but I do find the 4th one to be rather nicely stylized. Is that just a filter from photoshop that you applied?

The only filters that i used are the ones in the k20d. I just wanted to see what they can do. Photo shop only tweeked the picture. It was actually darker than what the pictures show.I took 6 pics. just to get one that i may like.It was spur of the moment.--charliezap

The in camera filters are kinda neat. just hit "save as" and you keep your original.Of course photo shop can do the same thing but its cool to see what it does out in the field.----charliezap
