A very sweet teenager who was great to work with. For both I used a beauty light above with an Alien Bee 800 and a honeycomb grid with a Metz 58 below using Cybersyncs. A levels adjustment and not much more than the standard settings in CS4 RAW. For one I converted to b&w with Phototools 2.5. For the other I also used Phototools 2.5 for an artistic effect. I duplicated the layer on each with a slight blur and then "erased" the blur around the eyes, hair, and contours of face. Her skin was perfect, but the lens picked up her make-up too much--that is why I used a blurred duplicate layer.

Very nice work. Your shots are well composed, and I really like your post-processing technique. Your client must be quite pleased.

The second shot is an excellent portrait. The softness adds a great quality to the image. Not sure I like the border though..

Thank you

Thank you both for your comments. She was very pleased, as was her mother!!

I have been using the border and sometimes a vignette regulalrly. It has become a kind of style for me. Nothing really original about it per se, but I like it. Thank you, though for your feedback.

Very nice high-key results.
#2 is indeed engaging with the muted colours. Well done with them.

Thank you

Thank you Ash and Song.

I appreciate the compliments.

Ash: are you familiar with Brent Pearson? He is from Australia. I feel like a bit of a dolt asking you this. Kind of like someone overseas asking me if I know "Joe Smith" or "Mary Jones" from the U.S. Anyway, he does a lot of light painting and has some online e-book material. Very interesting work and very nice to e-mail with.
