Plum Blossom and birds in Japan (2 imgs)
Camera: K10D Photo Location: Kichijoji, Tokyo
Posted By: mickey, 03-02-2010, 12:23 AM

Somre recent shots of plum blossom(ume) from Tokyo. Now it's really coming in to bloom, but the weather is cloudy and rainy.
Was about to call it a day after taking some pics of the blossom when two White Eye's came out for a spot of nectar.

Beautiful subtle colors and great composition! Fine illustrations of the little birds too!

Didn't even see the bird in the first one.
I too like the subtle appearance

I think these images are remarkable - technically excellent and very delicate - makes me think of haiku.

Thanks all.
They're quite heavily cropped. Decent enough for a small print.
Would love something longer than 300mm, but they were very fast and I had to take hand-held as they hopped from branch to branch up above me.

I don't know what's more beautiful, the bird or the blossoms! Love it.
