I got up at 4:30 AM to catch the fields in the "golden hour"

I went to the Dafodil fields yesterday under the mid-day sun. I knew I had to come back with better lighting conditions, so I got up at 4:30 AM, to beat the sun to the fields.

1/100s, f/7.1, ISO 100, 55 mm - "Dew beadlets"

1/25s, f/4.0, ISO 800, 24.4 mm - "barn in background"

1/100s, f/11.0, ISO 200, 55 mm - "barn overlooking fields"

1/60s, f/4.0, ISO 100, 32.5 mm - "clouds over dafodils"

1/125s, f/11.0, ISO 200, 55 mm - "Mallards taking flight"

Very impressive

.... all looks very interesting, some nice shots there. I gotta learn to get out of bed a bit earlier as well, he, he, might plan to do a bit more camping out bush & wake up in the scrub. Just a thought, I wonder if it's worth trying a flash to highlight the foreground a bit & keep the background the same? - keep up the good work.

Pleasant shots.
I have an affinity for #1 but wished that the front flash wasn't so harsh and unbalanced.
The background and sky are beautifully rendered.
Nice results.

I like the first two, especially. The colors are terrific.

Thanks Robanstan! It was my first early morning shoot. I experimented using a flash for some, and not on others. Do you recommend an external flash? I've only got the flash on the camera right now.

Very nice serie!
Thanks Swede!

Thanks Ash! I'm still experimenting and learning.....hopefully I'll figure out how to get a complete masterpiece someday! (-: For now, I'm happy with some of my early results.

Thanks Ari! Hang in there.....your spring is on it's way. You'll get to enjoy some AMAZING colors in the fall! (-:
