Thanks for the kind remarks.

I will go back in the near future to spend more time on the ship. I was amazed at the complexity of the mechanicals of the ship, and that was in the 1940's! It is like stepping back in time. Some of the gauges have calibration dates of 1946. Getting into the turret for the 16 inch "big guns" gives you a perspective of how difficult it must have been. Not much room (your only about 6 feet from the breech of the gun) and I could only imagine the noise!

Glad the ship was saved from the scrap heap.
