America is Beautiful

We were just returning to the unit after dinner and the sun was just setting. After scrambling to get my camera i managed to get a shot before the sun slipped below the horizon. If I had this to do over i may have used my flash unit to give the trees a we bit of highlight but as it was it was just a Florida quicky.Better days are coming.--charliezap

With that much color in the background I prefer the silhouetted trees to a flash. Just like you have it. Nothing like a Florida Quickie to put zip in my step.

Very nice, I wouldn't have flashed it.

I guess you're right--It would seem to be a bit unnatural to be" flashing" treescharliezap

Hi Charlie,
Lovely colouration and nice images.
If i may, I would suggest you cut the photo at the half way point vertically so that just the one palm is in. I think that will make a nice image on its own as i find the palms on the right a little cluttered.
Please add it again if you do.
Cheers Neil

Hi Dave--It's very cool here but fun.Does Sox2004 mean that you are a RED SOX fan.If so check out the link to my thread "CHEAPER THAN VEGAS".If you like football square pools than you'll like what you can do with a baseball pool.Check out the format---as far as i know it's my idea for a baseball pool. charlie zap

Nice photo, I love the colours and the silhouette of the palm trees. The people in the far background add to it also, IMO.

I peeked in here last night but had to come back to comment. I love the colors and the compostion. Without the trees, it's just another sunrise....With the trees being silhoutted, it makes it just......perfect!! Thanks for sharing.

It seems that everyone likes the colors.I finally found an initial "sweet spot" with the k20d that i like for scenics. I set the Saturation one stop from full and it seems to do the trick for me and the mode is on "BRIGHT". I believe my old k10 was set mostly to bright with high saturation--just be careful if there are too many red objects in the shot. I took some wild red poppy shots that made the flowers look like they were bleeding red--I had to tone it down a notch or two.---charliezap-- ps--enjoy St. Patty's day.
