Drops, colours, and an invitation to y'all!
Posted By: Rense, 03-15-2010, 11:33 AM

Every week, we have a Project 52 in the Games section of this forum. It's fun to join this P52,
because one's challenged to try new techniques and motivated to shoot things you normally don't.
This weeks challenge is "Abstracts", see the start post.

P52 is open to all: those who are member of this forum since the neolithicum,
and those who joined only today. Why don't you join every now and then? Please feel free!
The only rules are: the picture must fit the theme and has to be shot the running week.

For this weeks P52 I shot some water drops on a cd. My entry can be seen in the P52-tread,
linked above. But here are some redundant ones...

Here is one I took this morning. It has enough light but the bubble just isn't there. I mean it is there, just doesn't look like a bubble. The others are still not processed and I'll do that in a bit.

Btw, I prefer to be called Mar.

Well Mar , is it a crop or a 100% image?
And usually I use a shorter lens for such work: 50-100mm.
The exif says you used a 300mm lens?

Yes, 300mm sigma but I had the Raynox 150 on the end of it. Guess I could have dropped the lens down to 100mm and added the Raynox.

I think that would have given you a bit better sharpness! Tripod?
I used a tripod on all my shots...

Tripod? Oh, that's that thing that makes things sharper when hand held macro shots are blurry, right? LOL

I didn't even think tripod Rense. And those were taken at night as well. I should have used the tripod.

I took some more today after the sun showed up. I'll process and post them in a bit.

One problem I have with the tripod and the Raynox is I can't seem to get the tripod close enough and when I do, everything is blurry. My hands are not sturdy and using the tripod this way, it's hard to get close enough and still have things in focus.

Ok, I dragged the tripod over, used it like a monopod and here is one result. Medium was hand sanitizer with sugar crystals.
