New Pics! Bee/Fly/Ant, Venus Fly trap 100mm vs 50mm
Lens: 100mm, 50mm Camera: K20d Photo Location: backyard ISO: 400

I took out the newly acquired Pentax-M 100mm f4 macro, and was lucky to get 3 insects on some wildflowers. All photos handheld, no PP. (photos look sharper before compression)

Nice captures! You even caught the bee in mid flight.

The Venus Flytrap looks very menacing in close up.

Thanks for sharing.

now with 50mm f4 macro

I'm wondering if my copy of the 50 is that much better than that 100 or maybe i had better technique today...though i had to get much closer with 50 and it was harder to be that low

Your 50 just looks to be a lot sharper and gives images more "pop." Atleast, that's the impression I get from these photos. Like you said though, maybe it was just your technique in some of the shots, as the venus fly trap looks plenty sharp.

Still, good shots all around.
