wow, crisp shots. What lens were you using, and how far away were you? Love the series especially number 2, thanks for sharing

I was using the 400/5.6L which is my "go to" lens for bird shooting as long as the light's decent. When it gets darker the lack of image stabilization makes things more of a challenge, since Canon can't seem fit to give us in-body shake reduction like Pentax...

Thanks -- I was trying to figure out if they show up in Sweden (since we're moving there next month) and it looks like the "storskarv" is very closely related to it if not identical.

Yes, it looks a lot like a skarv. We have got a colony not far from where I'm living.
So what brings you to Sweden? Work? Love? Studies?

Very nice Pingflood. The eye on the cormorant is very transfixing. No 1 works for me.

Just miss my family (I'm the only one who left ~15 years ago), and have nephews and nieces I want to get to know. My wife doesn't mind moving to a new country either, we both figure it'll be a nice experience and a good place for our daughter to grow up (she's 3 now).

Yes, I figured out before that you were Swedish (whome else would have a blogg called "storpotaten"). Welcome back home. Sweden is still a rather safe corner in the world. A bit like "Shire" in the "Lord of the rings". I hope your familly will like it. If you end up near Stockholm perhaps we can go shooting together some day.
