Portraits of my daughter & a bonus picture
Lens: 30.6-55.0 Camera: Pentax K7 Photo Location: Bellevue & Snoqualmie, WA ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F5.6

Here are a couple of pictures of one of my daughters, and a picture of a stranger and his baby girl that was too cute to pass up. I'd like to do some more portraits in the future, so let me know what you think I did well, or what I can do better next time.

Thanks,

Coach Teeter

This is a 1 time shameless bump. Are there any comments or suggestions on any of these 3 shots?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

2 could have used a bit of fill flash to lighten up the face; the sun is giving you highlights on her hair but the face looks to be in shadow.

3 is a nice candid.

#1 seems short, you've knocked the top of her head off and so little neck. Don't see the why?

Agree with earlier comment regards #2

#3 is a very nice candid. a quibble - perhaps center it a bit more, include just a bit more on the left

I had some other poses for #1 that were from further back and included more neck and the top of the head, but I didn't like the smile and general look on her face nearly as much. Good point though.

I'll have to force a flash next time to highlite her face in the tree.

I do have a candid that should fulfill your wishes for more centering though. As a bonus, it includes Snoqualmie Falls in the background!

Tops of heads are generally unnecessary :-)

I took the liberty of a little cropping on #3, as her face really is the center of attention. Hope you don't mind.

Thanks SpecialK!

I thought those big eyes looking into the camera was where I wanted the attention too. I think the crop looks great!
