some 2:1 and a 4:1 macro (flash making it much easier)
Posted By: rhermans, 07-11-2007, 01:24 PM

Hi everybody,

since I got myself an external flash, going above the 1:1 macro range has gotten much easier.

All shot's are with a kiron105 at 1:1 + a raynox 250d (4:1 converter), combining them to a 4:1 macro.

The first 3 shot's were not good enough but after resizing 50% and cropping I found them usable. Don't know what is is, except very small my guess is a real small moth.

The last one are some aphids (no resizing just cropped).

Enjoy

(oh yes any C&C is always welcome)

Might have overdone the postprocessing. Was looking more at the bug than the green.

Thanks Heinrich,

this is the last colony, no ladybugs in sight maybe they'll survive

No 3 is my favorite macro as I always like head on insect shot - lots of impact and communicates with viewer.

The colour is rich and this is something unique to k10d macro shot. Pastel like colour and I love it.

The first 2 shots have a lot of blown highlights from the flash. Maybe try to dampen down the flash with some clothes or direct the flash away from the subjects. Usually when I encountered this, I would use recovery function to dampen down the clipped images.

Great shots in deed. The wonder of Green
