I can see why you find the play of branches interesting but I don't think it really works. Not as a nature shot and not really as an abstract. Not sure what I'd do different let alone better but I think the overly clear sky as background hurts. Around where I shoot perfectly clear skies are often the case and they give subjects with that as the background a "pasted in" look. I often end up wishing for a few clouds.
