Just found this cool little guy on the orange tree... unfortunately, the batteries in my flash were almost dead so the shot was pretty underexposed... which brought a fair amount of noise. I played with it on photoshop, putting the spider on its own layer, then applied a soft focus effect on the background to "treat the noise"....

1/30s f/16.0 at 100.0mm iso400

Oh this is just fantastic!

That silvery leg dangling over the edge, in critical focus, is superb. The spider looks like he's wearing a jeweled crown

Either that, or it's of the current generation of nanobots... haha.

Thank you everyone!! I'm sure glad I didn't trash the original and spent the time to post- process it..

I have many jumping spiders around my property but this one is the first I saw with extra long front legs....

sometimes the ones you don't think are keepers are better than the keepers after a bit of thoughtful PP'ing.

It's creepy ... but intriguing at the same time though.
It's a great shot though ... almost surreal.
