Moon versus man
Lens: 300 mm Camera: Pentax K20D Photo Location: Connecticut, USA ISO: 200
Posted By: Naturenut, 03-26-2010, 05:28 AM

Taken on AF with a Tamron 70-300mm, roughly around 8 a.m. last October (I put the wrong date on the photo). No tripod...it was a situation where I was out in my yard shooting (photos) of woodpeckers. Suddenly I heard the loud roar of an engine and spun around to see what it was. Glanced up and saw this jet crossing in front of a bright morning moon and just started snapping.

To be fair, I had just gotten the camera and didn't know diddly squat about chaning the settings so I was on AF in green mode. I would have to go back and look to see what the actual SS and f-stop were. I know that the ISO was 200 as that was the default on my camera.

Anyway...I just thought it was kind of a neat shot with the plane's propulsion trails making some nice 'leading lines', as well as being a good juxtaposition of man vs the moon...As mighty as man thinks he is with his technology, we are but an insignificant dot when compared to the heavenly bodies and beyond. :-)

:-) Laurie

PS I apologize for the fuzziness as it appears after posting. Not sure what happened...twas much sharper originally. I think my resaving it again after cropping and adding my name has lowered the image quality. I'll have to go hunt for the original later and see if I can pull that one out. But anyway, you get the idea. lol

Fuzziness or not, that's a fun - and great - photo!
That is was captured in an unexpected moment makes it all the more interesting.

I like this as well.
Images need not always be sharp to convey impressions.
