B&W or Color
Lens: 12-24 Camera: K20 ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1s Aperture: F9.5

Playing around with a photo and seeing how it would convert to B&W. My daughter prefers the color and I the B&W. Cheers. JIM

Jim, in my opinion the color shot is the best as the rising sun make the mood of the shot.

Color, most definitely. If I look at the B&W one by itself, it's stunning, absolutely nothing wrong with it. But then I scroll back up to the color one and think - wow. Very well executed.

There is something primeval in the colors of the beginning and end of the day. The mind latches onto those colors and feels the moment. At least for me.

The color does it for me. The B&W is more classical, but the color, those shades of pastel, the intensity of the sun. Just has more "tug" than the B&W.

Great shots, either way!

Another vote for colour, you just cant beat sunrise or sunset colours/lighting.

Great shot again from this location Jim!
Thanks Joni. I have shot here a few times. Heading to the Rockies [Jasper, Banff, Lake Louise] in three weeks to shoot. Should be fun. JIM

As if it hadn't been said enough - color! I think here the subtle pastel coloring contributes to the feel of the photo - and some of that is lost with the B&W one (which ain't bad, for sure).

Good stuff, as usual, buddy.

I'm with your daughter on this one........and everyone else who replied. The black and white is very good, but the color takes it up a few notches. Excellent shot!

Ordinarily I'm a fan of B&W for shots like that, but in this case I really like the color version.
