some B & W conversions are easier than others

I'm not exactly sure which of these two I like better. The "full color" one looks almost like one of those selective desaturation shots.
DS with my trusty Zenitar 16mm fisheye, crop of a much larger shot. 1/500 aperture unknown

I feel like I am at the eye doctor being asked if the image is better with 1 or 2 and I can't decide. I keep scolling up and down.......both shots work for me because of the nice composition. My eye is easily drawn through the photo and back because of the tree trunk reflection. However, in the color photo, my focus drifts up, drawn to the color area beyond the pool. In the BW, my eyes stay more focussed on the pool. In the end, I prefer the BW as the color area is not the primary focus of the photo; at least to me. Thanks for sharing.

Buddy, I think I like the color one in this case. The green grass is in striking contrast to the monochromatic look of the pool.

The green coolour adds more contrast to the pond at the lower portion of the photo. Hence the first shot is better.

I prefer the colourful photo usually
