March is the Front Range's snowiest month and after a fairly heavy dump I took this image of the Flatirons from Chataqua Park in Boulder. The Flatirons are a true icon of Boulder and are the sediments washed down from the Ancestral Rockies over 200 million years ago and raised into their present position about 70 million years ago. I have always liked the contrast between the dark red sandstone, the white snow and the green trees. Comments and critiques are welcome.
Taken with my Pentax K10D using a Sigma 17-70 lens. 1/500, f/8, ISO 100, +1.0ev (so the snow would come out right)
