Mexico:Beaches, ruins, sunsets, et al.
Posted By: ThorThum, 03-29-2010, 04:50 PM

I just spent a week in and around Cancun, Mexico, even after the State Department warned Americans not to travel there. Anyway, we had no trouble and enjoyed our vacation very much. Most of the pictures were taken with my K200D, with either the DA 50-200 WR, the DA 10-17 fisheye, or the Sigma 18-50 EX DC Macro. I found the three lenses worked and traveled well, as they seemed to meet all my needs. The WR worked perfectly well kayaking around!. I also brought my Canon S80, because I have an underwater enclosure for it, for snorkeling. Although I took about 840 shots all together, I'll only post a fraction. Comments and criticisms are welcome!

Sunsets

Wrapping up here on the travel pics. Let's see, if you missed the "Voladores" or Mayan flyers, or more animals you can see them here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/95139-people-mayan-pole-dancers.html and here: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/94832-landscape-yucatan-fauna.html Anyway, I'm a big sunset fan (mainly because I cant drag my arse out of bed for sunrises ). Most of them were taken with the Sigma 18-50, except the last was with my P&S sitting on a chair. Let me know what you think. C&C appreciated.

Thanks for sharing. My friend went to Mexico a while ago during winter and took some very nice photos that I thought were amazing, but these are definitely more artistic. I especially like the turquoise beach with the sailboat, the peacock, and the Observatory.

I like the lagoon sunset and the ruins by the ocean shots. I just love the colours that come out at sunset. great job. Now back to my cold weather Canadian life

Wow, the third and fourth shots are my favorite. The third looks really great composition wise and the color of the ocean looks wonderful. I went to puerto rico three years ago and the water was just as stunning and probably just as warm. I also really like the sunset shot as well, the colors are really great and the clouds add a real dramatic look to the image.

Thanks for sharing.
