Nice BIF, yo! Two different birds? Must be a lot of rats there.

I take it BIF means Bird in flight? ^_^ Thanks for the compliment

Looks like it wasn't a "walk in the park" for that mouse!

You're gonna love the 55 - 300. It's very versatile.

Looks good to me. This is a terrific lens for the bucks and it's not too big.

thanks for all the kind comments. Yes it is a very versatile and nice lens. Perfect size too. @ Dammgina, yes those are two separate birds. The second one landed in the pond and just left the dead rodent to die and didn't eat it. Not sure why it killed it in the first place. It kept rinsing it in the water before leaving it. The first bird just flew away with it.

Very nice shots, I have just picked up the DA 55-300mm myself recently and so far the shots are sharp and a cut above the Tamron 70-300mm that I was using before.

I like the first one best too.
I love my 55-300 and it stays parked on my k10d as my drive around/walk around lens.....landscapes are static enough to change lens to a wide when needed.

Wow, great series of shots. My favorite is the first with that amazing capture, I really hope I can pick up one of these someday!
