Nice shot. I would have liked a little softer light on the left side, just to keep the skin from washing out a bit. Bt I suspect you can bring some of that back in PP. Handsome young man. Lucky dad.

Btw. those settings don't effect a RAW image. They only change the Jpeg. RAW is the digital negative and just the (mostly) unprocessed image from the sensor.

Thanks Peter, the photo was taken by the skylight so the natural light was pretty strong.

I don`t find this to be the case. As an example, shoot RAW with AWB, then change your WB to something else. You`ll have 2 different looks but both photos will have the same info as the other. Changing colors, sharpness etc will also be recorded.

That's why I said Mostly. AWB does effect a RAW image. But sharpness, natural and other setting do not effect a RAW file.

Not trying to argue but, Highlight and Shadow correction also carry over in RAW. Pentax software shows it in the Exposure/Tone and Image Data tab.

I was referring to the settings you indicated in the OP. You are correct about DR settings.

I wonder about this "fine sharpness", what is it that it does?

Unfortunately my comment has taken away from discussing the actual photo and I'm sorry for that ajuett. It sharpens the Jpeg. We should now get back to the photo and discuss this elsewhere.

the angle of the light is not very flattering and the left side is noticably bright, still a lovely photo
