My Kids..
Posted By: Scott Rylance, 11-26-2006, 07:17 PM

My wife asked me to take some shots of the Kids for the family, for Xmas.
These are the few that I'm most happy with...still need a bit of work.
Man...what's the saying, never work with kids or Animals, well it's right, it was hard work.
Any comments welcome.

Scott, how come your son already wear glasses at this age? Short sighted or ...?

The frames does make him look seasoned and scholar like. I wonder if you made him to wear that for the shots...

just a delusion i am having at the moment ...
Hey James,
He has been wearing glasses since he was 7 months old, and funny enough, we never had a problem with him taking them off. He's long sighted, and has a slightly turned eye. They doc says hey should be ok by about age 6 or 7.
Cheers.

Fantastic work Scott.

As a father of 3 young kids I know how much work it is to get good shots. You've done a great job.

I like #1 as a "Christmas Shot" but the expression on your daughter's face in #6 is priceless.

Absolutely superb Scott, the best B&W conversions I've seen for quite a while.

Scott,

As already conveyed by many here, very nice shots indeed. I know you used a flash but was there a window off to the right side also providing some light? The shadows change direction from image to image, which makes me think that there was intermittent sunlight when you shot these. As you know, light is everything and you did a great job with the light in these images.

Thanks very much Tim.....you are dead right. I used the light coming in from the right the give the photos some extra light and added shadows. It was morning light so it wasn't too harsh.
Cheers.
