Great shots, thanks for sharing.. I love ospreys. There is a huge osprey nest on the jetty at a jobsite i go to (gas plant so nothing electronic allowed ), we would stand for hours watching them while waiting for permits to work. Especially when they would feed the eaglets, spectacular. I really would love to take a camera out there.
Wow Wade...that would just kill me...not being able to take a camera to that site Thanks for looking...glad you enjoyed them

I like the shots, especially the 4th,

I assume you know where this bird lives. there is a shot I would really like to see, but it takes some good timing, or incredible luck.

I have attached my best try at it but focus is just a little off

Bird is hovering over a fish, and wings are all the way down in the stroke

I am still trying to get another, but as I said, this is just a little off focus. It is OK for a small print, but not 8 x 10

Unfortunately, I don;t live near any nests so I don't have an opportunity to watch them regularly so I have to take what I can get.

I origonally posted this in a thread discussing whether you keep shots that are slightly blurry and why. Although it is not perfectly sharp, the angle, and pose make me keep it regardless. Even though I have hundreds of osprey shots over the years, this keeps me shooting at them every chance I get, but it is rare to see them actually hunting (fishing). Usually they are perched on a platform, or simply in flight.

Nice shots, there are some falcons that sort of hang out near the skydiving drop zone. I get the occasional decent shot but I always wish I had a little longer lens to bring them in a little closer.

Great job with number 3, you captured the moment perfectly. I also really like the osprey's yellow eyes, as they really pop from the blue sky.

I wish I lived closer to the coast...I think I would have a better chance to get a hovering photo or one in action catching a fish
