Quote: Hey Jim, I have shot 100's too and what amazes me is how close you get so a measly 200mm lens gets a nice big shot. Great color in that one. Looks like a cloudy day yet a very warm cast. I really like it.

Thanks Lee. It took time to learn the get close. I was about 10 feet away from this guy so there is a little cropping here. Shot it from my car window. JIM

Thank you Jan. JIM

Always appreciate you commenting Swede. JIM
Quote: Brilliant shot Jim. Is this handheld, or off a tripod? Herons are not twitchy, but still very sharp for 200mm at 1/125s
This was shoot out my car window so not really a tripod but a bean bag. I bought a blind a few motnhs back anf still have not used it. Need to set it up soon. JIM

Quote: I really love the look of the "texture" of the birds wings in this shot, buddy. I assume you shot this with your Sigma 70-20 ???
Jer
Thanks Jer .Yes, it was my trusty Sigma 70-200 2.8. I haven't pullt it out much lately as if have been doing mostly landscape work. It was great to get out and the weather was just right for Heron shooting. JIM
