Originally posted by causey I have a k200d, not a K-x, but from the comparisons I've seen K-x is significantly better than K200d at high ISO, which may mean that your camera has some defect. Because the pic taken with the K200d is clearly cleaner than the other one. Maybe someone who has both cameras will say more.
UPDATE: I checked image-resources'
comparometer and K200d's output does seem to show more detail than that of K-x at ISO 800...
Thanks for looking into that. It kinda sucks that the k200d is still sharper at ISO 800...cause in a lot cases (concerts) i might be able to manage with ISO 800. However, the K-x is significantly smaller and would perform better if i need ISO 1600-3200.

Yeah I really love the K200D. It's such a solid and quality camera. I got the K-x for concerts, but convinced my brother to sell off his Canon Rebel and shoot with the K200D (didn't take too much convincing lol) cause it was such a great camera.
Originally posted by Bob Harris I wonder if the camera ISO was left on auto if you would get more detail, the Kx does a pretty good job at high ISO with not too much noise.
hmmm not sure maybe i'll give that a shot and see what happens. I've heard and seen such great high ISO shots with the K-x, so I'm convinced that I'm not using it to the best of it's capabilities either with the camera or in PP.

Are these tripod / set on a table?
The cameras were set on a table. Both used the same lens (50mm f/1.4) and same ISO, aperture and shutter speed. I was kind of shocked at the results. If i'm taking a picture of something relatively close, the K-x seems to give out some pretty detailed pictures. If the subject gets further the details begin to get lost. For the concert, I was closest to the drummer and as a result, I got some good detailed shots of the drummer. The other two members of the band were far away (I cropped the shots so they seem closer than they actually are) and in a lot of the pictures, you can't really make out their facial features. =/
