2nd concert with k-x (better)
Lens: 50mm Camera: k-x Photo Location: Lee's Palace
Posted By: juicebox, 04-08-2010, 11:54 PM

Earlier this week I posted a set of photos that I took at a concert and they were not the sharpest. Got a chance to go to a show tonight and test out the k-x again. This time, the results were better. Shot these photos with a 50mm (did some cropping in PP), F/2.5 - 2.8 and varying ISOs between 1600-2600. I think one of the main reasons these images turned out sharper were because I was closer to the performers and the lighting was better making the camera able to pin point what I was focusing on (I'm too slow with manual focusing, so I use auto). The band is called Land of Talk and these were some of my favourite pics of the night.

The rest of the set can be found here

You captured a lot of 'life' in these images.
Well done in such difficult lighting conditions.

I love the sillouetted photo, although I wish it was a more complete one. The rest of them are nice, but due to the stage lights I suppose the colors are going to be off no matter what. The high ISO is amazing though. What a great little camera the K-x is.

Thanks! I know what you mean after I loaded the shots on to my computer, I was thinking "ahh i wish i got the lower portion of his body and the bass guitar in the silhouette". Everything happens so fast that I didn't have too much time to compose the shot as well (full body), also I had to shoot over some guys head in front of me lol

Thanks. Some of the shots didn't turn out as well, but those will never see the light of day!

Nice work. My favorite is #1 and what makes it for me is the guitar strings flying around at the top of the photo, nicely complementing the singer's perceived motion.

Very nice series of shots, and the Kx's high ISO capabilities must have really helped out here!

Good job, I know how difficult these lighting conditions can be!
