Robin

I had some spare time today and managed a shot of this Robin. Common as dirt in these parts but not without interest.

Duhhh! Sorry I missed that the first time around Robin.
No problem Tom! And, by the way, I used to spend a bit of time in Waterloo. Friend of mine got his optometry degree there. Loved the cheap and good Chinese places by the university.

That's a beautiful photo! The sharpness is really something.

And I'm glad to hear that Robins are common as dirt around your neck of the woods. There's too much wildlife fading away in other areas. Every yard used to be full of lightning bugs and the trees always had song birds. Now, it's dark lawns and raucous grackles. Great pic!

Really sharp, fine detail. You've got me thinking of getting a monopod for sure now.

We've managed to keep some of the watershed away from the developers (so far) and that has helped a lot. There is a conservation area of several hundered acres just up the road from my house. In a few minutes walk I'm in the woods. This habitat supports a lot of wildlife and for that I'm grateful.

I recommend them highly. I'm more than willing to carry the monopod but I balk at the tripod for some reason.

That is an excellent shot! It's like I'm there.

Watch out, you have sensor dust.

That is a great shot. I have been trying to take pictures of birds but I can't get them this sharp. I really like how the colors really pop.

Thanks Tuner571.

That blue sky (Robin's egg blue) is typical of the look M series lenses give to the sky. If you can work the background just so the effect can be magic. K and A series lenses have a different look.

You really made the common robin (at least in these parts) look majestic by photographing him at that angle. Great shot.

Nice Robin shot. Lots of them around here also, but they always seem hard to get a good shot of them.
