This Earth That You Walk Upon
Posted By: rparmar, 04-10-2010, 02:55 PM

In my last photo thread I presented carpeting from a different perspective and hinted that a Simple Minds song title might describe the series.

Well, here's the title and a bunch more images I hope to put together into a set for exhibition. Well, the better ones anyway.

I'll keep these coming at you as I get them processed and tagged.

Oh and that last one you posted is very nice, I assume that is paint chipping? I should have read the thread better, but what lens are you using for these? And what do the titles mean?
Chipped paint with some nail heads and other refuse embedded.

Maybe I forgot to mention these are with the Vivitar Series 1 105mm Macro. So manual focus.

The titles? They are simply the image numbers. Because I have no meaningful titles to give these and don't really want words in the way.

Almost done the series as it currently stands. A couple more to come.

(This one has a title... for now!)

That's it for now. I will work on more over the coming weeks as I find good subjects.

I think that the numbers as titles give them a really unique name in itself, actually. I like them more than normal titles as if you didn't know they were image numbers, they would give an heir of mystery to the photos.

Very cool shots, the texture really is amazing on these. You also nailed the focus and the spot of orange on the grey really makes it pop.

Thanks for all those comments. I hope to do more once my tripod comes back from being kidnapped. (I left it in a friend's car the night before they left the continent for two weeks!)

This is another batch of photos for this set, this time shot with the FA 77mm Limited and a screw-in macro adapter. The theme here is SPLAT! and the subtext is "look out for those pigeons!"

But when you look at the patterns they leave behind, they are quite beautiful, in their way.
