Hey guys, I'm new to the DSLR world. Here's a few photos from this morning's hike. I used the DA L 18-55 for the first two and the A 50mm 1.7 for the last. Any c&c you can offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

Great start. We all go through that learning curve. I am about 25% there and I only hope I stay on the earth long enough to get past 50%. Lighting plays a big role in shots like these or any other image. Keep pushing that shutter and the real key is understanding your equipment first. Cheers JIM

Great job for your first posts! I really like your imagination. It really shows that you put some thought into your photos. Did you shoot them in RAW? #2 would make a great HDR shot and you could bring a lot of the blown out sky back into a great deep blue but I really like the perspective of that shot.

Also, great depth of field on the bench photo! Keep up the good work!

The first shot looks like out of focus or a blur but i like the angle of view.
I like the OOF on the 3rd. maybe a little more dof would be great

I know I've got a long way to go, but as long as the journey is enjoyable it's worth it, right? Thanks for the comments!

Thanks for your comments! I did shoot these in RAW and I had a friend recommend trying HDR on the second photo too, so I'll have to give that a try.

Thanks for the encouraging words!

The second shot looks perfect for HDR!
Like this shot but don't as obviously looks over exposed in trees and on other hand don't want the stones any darker.
Really interesting composition that I think could jump out with HDR.
