First day out with the K-x.
Shot on Autopic mode and just ramped up the contrast in pp.

This is very nice, I love the wide angle to it. But your sky is...well...not so good. I think velvia might come to mind for some. Maybe you could try putting your camera in some other modes, it looks like you have a great photographic talent, so try AV mode (aperture priority) and see what you can do with that. This is a very nice photo.

Usually that happens to the sky when you use auto mode in your camera and change the contrast, it's just the way it happens, so I'm not sure there's much you can do. I take it you took a JPEG of this?

Very nice photo, but the sky is a little on the bright side. If you toned down the saturation just slightly it would be much better.
