Red Tail Hawk: Get me out of here NOW!
Lens: 55mm Camera: K100DS Photo Location: Arecibo, Puerto Rico ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/60s Aperture: F8

Hi,

More from the wildlife refuge. This is my favorite bird since I was a kid. When I was a kid I was convinced I saw the Air Force star under their majestic wings.
Red Tail Hawk.
It is trying to tell you "Psst, Hey, get me out of here... NOW"

It's a young fellow that was found hurt. It is doing very good now. I suppose it may eventually be released but not sure.

Thanks,

Wow, does he ever look mean. It good to hear that you saved this guy and that he will return to the wild.

Those birds are really common around my neck of the woods...I have never been able to get close enough to get a decent shot of one though.

The bird looks really cool, but I really don't like that inevitable reflection from the flash or the light or whatever that is. Too bad that was there too or else this would have been a perfect photo.

You nailed the eye. He is a fierce looking predator.

What a daunting look on that bird.

Very nice capture.

Just wondering though, what are the two horizontal (and barely visible) lines?

My guess would be the door on a cage.

Thank you all!
The bird was in a cage. That's why the horizontal lines. That was the best I could do trying to make them disappear. Maybe playing with it in Photoshop can help improve it.
Here is another shot so you can see the cage:

Thanks!
