Here's a few from a dance performance I shot. It was mostly ballet but there were some other dance groups (hip hop) that participated in the production as well. I had to crank the ISO and shoot at 2.8 to get anything at all so they are what they are. But they ARE colorful!

The silouette is the best. I like the first one a lot too.

Thanks everyone! Funny thing though, I printed up a few of these and the silhouette shot didn't really pull off too well. Something about it being on a monitor and the back light really sets it off better.

Wow, Mel - a super job. I particularly like the first one - which is something coming from someone who's knowledge of ballet is . . . . . . limited.

Thanks Tuner and Jer.

The number in that first image has the dancer (there were two different girls that played her depending on the night) actually hitting the tambourine with her foot above her head (arm holding tambourine is fully extended up). By the third night of shooting I had the dance down so well that I was able to get several of her hitting it, both kicking forward and backwards, with single shots. Unfortunately the quality isn't what I had hoped for. But I was rather pleased with the timing.

Nice series.

Most don't realize how physically difficult Ballet is. For the men, it requires a great deal of upper body strength.

Thanks for posting

Thanks both. And Oscar, I do realize how hard it is. It makes my feet hurt just watching them go on pointe like that.

I like them all. The colours reinforce the drama. Great shots.
