Our toiletspider revisited
Lens: 55mm Camera: K20d Photo Location: home, on the toilet ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/180s Aperture: F16
Posted By: Rense, 04-12-2010, 10:18 PM

Yesterday, I posted a macro photo of a spider that is living in our toilet (Kiss Me).
Yesterday evening, I tried to make some new portraits of this natural beauty, and I
think I had some better results now. So, here is a new try to document the
character of this male of this house spider Tegenaria atrica.

EDIT: On the Dutch forum, I was told there were some nasty spots on both sides of the spider. Don't see them here, but in this pic I tried to wash them away...

Nice shot! I have a tiny jumping spider that lives in our bathroom, might try and get a macro of it soon.

Those jumping spiders are fun! I like them, with their large eyes...

That spider looks great Rense I don't mind a spider in the house, but ants, not so much.

That's a very nice capture. I've always wondered how people get such clear / sharp macros. I don't think I do to bad until I see shots like these ones.

Beautifully detailed & well lit image Rense. I can see this walking across the room!

As was stated in another post - its macro season!

Cheers

Thank you! I use a tubular diffuser, home made, for less than US$2, I guess.... It provides the light when I shoot at f/16 and 1/180'..... Look here for the set up.

Nice and sharp Rense. It would be a long time before I used that toilet.

Lovely picture Rense

(I can see the nasty spots on both sides of the spider quite well here at home, so thanks for the update)!
