Country House - Walhalla
Camera: K20D Photo Location: Walhalla
Posted By: knumbnutz, 04-13-2010, 03:53 PM

Hi All,

Typical old house in the countryside.

Walhalla is an old gold mining town which died as soon as the gold stopped and it is like a snapshot from the past.

Here are a few from the day out.

Cheers Neil

I really like #1 and 2, both have a great look to them.

Very appealing shots, I bet you have a bunch of photos from there. I know I would.

First shot with the 12-24?

Nice shots Neil. Looks like a nice little getaway.

Really nice series, the colors look great and your composition is stunning. However, my favorite in the first one, that is one great looking shot.

These are all very nice, but the first one is the one that drew my attention the fastest. It's very nice the way you took and processed that one.

The first black and white shot is a classic.

But the geometry of the second shot disturbs me. Is the building really out of whack like that, or is it perspective distortion?

Hehe no that's just perspective distortion which is really obvious with a wide angle lens.

Thanks for the comments everyone !

The B/W first image is a five shot stitch which I accidently shot in Pmode. I say accidently because I would usually shoot in Manual and I did after but it didn't expose or look nearly as good as this version ....

It is indeed a very beautiful place.

The first BW shot is very pleasant to look at. The third one is a good BW candidate too.

I think then that I would like the shot better if you could have been higher relative to the building, so as to reduce that effect. Because the colours and rendering are otherwise very nice!

I agree #1 is classic. I don't see how it could be any better than that. All of them are keepers. Very nice!!!
