Down by the river again but started home and this guy just flew right above me. Had to stop and capture him, of course. Hope you like.

Yep, you DID good! The kind of exposure I strive for and seldom get.

Sky looks natural to me.

Looks terrific to me - I just can't do this consistently, so I envy you.

Thanks Scott.

Lee, thank you for the compliment.

And Jer.....Glad you like it and thanks for the compliment but you're making me blush.

I'm thinking seriously about mounting this but I can't decide what size would look best. I thinking 11x14, but perhaps 18x20. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't think too much about the size, rather were you could put it.

If you have a great spot behind your desk go 18x20, if it is in a nook by your bed, try a 11x14.

Make sure you don't cheap out on the frame and you will have a nice photo.

Actually, my living room wall was where I planned the hanging of this photo. It is about 12 ft long, by 8ft high. Thanks for the suggestions jord. And I never cheap out on frames.

behind the couch is great... there are soo many options... photo sets, large frames... etc... maybe i am a geek, but I would take a photo of the space and try different sizes, sets, frames, etc ps into the space... but that is just me... too much time..

No, not behind the couch. My living room has three recliners and on the wall I'm thinking of it has only one reclinder and loads of empty space. I have two framed photos on there already. Well, one framed 8x10 and one BA degree, mine. But there is still space to put either a 11x14 or 18x20.

I think I'll try what you said though. And I have a few frames here I could hold up there to see which is better.

The symmetist in me would say 2 framed items at 8x10 scream for a 3rd 8x10

The first 8x10 will be removed. The BA degree can also be moved. My living room is approximately 16x15ft. So I can move the other two to another wall. Or hang two 8x10s on either side of the 11x14. Which ever size I decide on it's not going to be 8x10. That's too small to display this hawk in the best size I can afford.

Right now it's on my desktop of my computer on my 22" widescreen monitor. I think going smaller would degrade the concept of it's size.

What a beautiful shot!!!!! I've seen them up close and the detail in your shot is amazing. The sky where I live is that color sometimes, too. We had a pair of red tail nesting somewhere near our house for a couple of years. They would often lurk in a tree outside an old fallen down barn on the property waiting for something to scurry out.

Thanks for the compliment subeeds.

I've seen them here high up beyond my 300mm lens reach, this one just cruising about 100ft give or take a few feet, above me.
