Down by the river again but started home and this guy just flew right above me. Had to stop and capture him, of course. Hope you like.

You sure did! This turned out excellent. I think the one thing that I would change is your sky, it just looks a little too blue for some reason, but not the cool kind of ohhh that's pretty blue, more of a dull blue. Just my own opinion on it though.

That was the color of the sky. I didn't pp any of this in that way. Where I live the sky is this color blue. I could deepen it but that would deepen the color on the hawk too.

Thanks eaglem. This was hand held shot also. For some reason, I'm lucky in that I get good detail in my BIF shots.

gdog, thanks for the compliment.

Yes, Andy, it was cropped. Wish I didn't have to but I wasn't that close to him, not to crop. And thanks for compliment.

Thanks Mike. Glad you liked it.

Very nice shot, you captured this guy very well. The colors look good as well as the detail, you mentioned that this is cropped but it is still a great capture none the less. We had a hawk out here that looked like that and when I tried to get some shots he flew off and I have never seen him again.

Thanks for sharing,
Cory

Thanks Jason, Cory, Jan, and Rense, for the comments and compliments.

Rense all it takes is a bird and patience. I know you have patience and I've seen your Geese in flight, and their details are great too.

Looks good to me. I've only seen a couple of these in my lifetime when I had a camera in hand. The last time, I had just taken my 300mm off the camera and put on the 12-24. Try as I might I just couldn't catch him. He flew off down the river somewhere and didn't return. One of my customers (building contractor) has a tree that is home to a Falcon. Each time I go, I have the 300 mounted up hoping to get this guy but he too, eludes me. Oh well, someday, and when I do, the people here will be the second to know
