Heron
Lens: 300mm Camera: K-x Photo Location: Mentor Lagoons ISO: 800 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F5.8

Here's another heron from todays outing.
I got pretty close this time - maybe 40 feet - and he just sat there.
Never had that kinda luck before.
I'm thinking I'm doing OK with the PP --- C&C gladly accepted.

You sure have been posting some great shots of heron's lately and it continues to make me jealous that I was not able to capture one when I went to Florida last year. Anyway, this photo is very nice and the detail you captured in the feathers is very nice as well.

No need to go all the way to Florida.
What part of Ohio are you in? There are some really great spots around the Mentor area. Let me know if your interested and I'll point you in the right direction around here.

Great shot. 40 feet you are lucky. any time I just think of taking a picture of a heron he flies away

This one looks a lot better, the colors look a lot more normal, I suppose. I actually really like this one.

Thanks, I did spend a little more time on this one...
I still can't help but wondering if Photoshop would be better than my Photoimpact 12 ??? Not ready to put out a lotta dough for new software just yet though.
