Taking my new Pentax K-x to Local Park
Camera: Pentax K-x
Posted By: learnphotography, 04-18-2010, 12:36 AM

Spent 3hrs at the park and took many many shots. here are a few pics which i love it very much. Using Dual Kit Lens.
i cant believe my 50-200 can do this

This shot is nt easy as its very easy to scare off the bird

Ailen staring at a stick

This pic looks like HDR but its not. Impressed by K-x dynamic range.

Crystal on Lily

this shot was taken in a hurry. its wld be nicer if the cable hadnt been there

HDR under rain. my K-x got wet.

Another Fly

Some nice shots in here.
The last one looks a bit HDR
how much cropping have you made on the first shot?

The first few of them are very good, I was really amazed when I first looked at them. I really love the dragonfly, that is a very hard photo to get but you definitely got it perfectly, and the bird turned out very nicely also. After that though, they get a little average, and not as interesting. I really like the first two or three of these though.

Well you and your new K-x produced some awesome photos! I would have left the squirrel photo out of an otherwise great series

Nice series but I agree with Jan in that the squirrel shot didn't add anything. It is really overexposed. Those dragonfly shots are really nice.

I don't see anything wrong with posting the squirrel pic, it isn't perfect however once learnphotography has some more experience behind both the camera and the computer it'll make a nice pic.
Judging from his name he's here to learn, like we all had to.. so that makes this the perfect place to post it.

learnphotography, I can only guess from all the noise that it's taken at a higher ISO than the rest of your pic's. The first thing that I'd do if I was you is take the camera off of Auto ISO, or at least restrict it to ISO 400 and lower.
It'll give you more control. You will have to learn how to pan (follow the subject with the camera) however it'll add top the effect of the pic, by giving the background some motion blur.

I hope that you don't mind, I did a little tweaking on it, plus removed the cable.

Wow, very nice series of shots! The composition on these looks great and I really like the colors too. My favorite shot is the first one of the dragonfly, it is very sharp and very stunning. Thanks for sharing these great pics and I look forward in seeing what you post in the future.

I just took about 49 seconds in photoshop, with a clone tool. Coping one section onto another section until the cable was gone.

Very nice shots - great to see the 50-200 perform so well, I must carry mine about more...
Nice park too, the most exotic fauna in my local park are pigeons and rats!

And it even just looks like a little crack in the wood, wow I have to try that! I have a lot of cables that I wouldn't mind to be gone from my photos, maybe I'll try it out with that Adobe CS5 free trial I think I'm going to download soon and try out a little bit.
