Another Kookaburra
Posted By: Bramela, 07-21-2007, 03:58 PM

I recently posted a shot of a Kookaburra (australian),since then I have done a bit of PP with two shots combined. Thought it came up rather satisfactorily.
For your interest out there, posted some information on this species on an earlier posting..........Bruce

I really like the shot Bruce. Great comp work. I can see why each time Tom looks at one of these it makes him smile. There a funny looking bird and seem to have a look of distinction about them. I don't get to travel that much to other countries (the last couple of times Uncle Sam paid the bills and those who went paid the price), the last time I was in your neck of the woods was back in 1970 I was on two weeks R&R. I'm ashamed to admit I didn't get to see the sights of interest then but then the sights I did see a gentleman never talks about. Any way it was a great two weeks away from war and I hope one day to get back and see the sights I should have been looking at the first time. Thanks for the lift and sharing the shot.

Laugh!

It's is quite coincidental that you speak of these birds being funny, because they are renowned for that laughing call which is very loud. Heard quite regularly at dawn, which is why they are nicknamed "Nature's alarmclock or "Bushman's alarmclock"
I hear them every morning just before sunup and I really enjoy it.
Many thanks to all for your positive comments. Be assured, when it comes to PP I am a real learner, and at my age (over 60) that becomes even harder.
So thanks all, it is really appreciated!
