London colour
Lens: 10mm Camera: K200D Photo Location: London, England ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 2s Aperture: F8

I've been playing with some of the shots I took in London last year, and these two still appeal......

We'd walked past these almost every day, and at night, but on this particular evening, they were lit up in colour - what were fairly stunning buildings became incredible features of the night!

First - the Natural History Museum...

and then the Victoria and Albert Museum.....

Thanks for looking

Cheers

Nice shots!

I like these, Chris--really sharp and good saturation, interesting subjects! Cindy

Nicely captured. I really like the Natural History Museum. The lights on the tree at the right with the corresponding lampost on the left add to it.

These sure are some very beautiful shots! I really like how all the light brings out the details in the buildings with all that masonary. I also like the color from the lights as they really make the photo jump off the page.

Apparently I have never walked by these buildings at night, since I have never seen them lit up like this. I guess by that time I am generally at a cafe in Soho.

These are appealing and I think would be more so if they were cropped just a bit tighter, getting rid of some of the space on the left. But that is all I can suggest... thanks for sharing!

Thanks Cindy - these aren't as sharp as the originals though - had to reduce them for posting

Yeah - I think the V&A is my favourite of the two.

Night shots need a tripod, a remote (or the self timer) and patience. For these I used a gorillapod on a bollard (the green V&A image) and on a fence. The gorillapod is worth every cent!

Thanks Susan. I took about 6 of these - and the lamp post balances up the darkness on the left. The other thing was to make sure I had the bud lights in. That can be hard with this building as it is very long!!!

Ta Cory. The Natural History Museum has reddish granite ? stone stripes in it as well - which makes it rather interesting with the red lighting. I'll have to find the images and post them - got some night shots of that too.

Cheers Robin - thanks for the crit. These shots weren't that late (it was autumn - and about 7pm - so you may not have been in Soho yet...

I'll see if I can reduce the space. Its a bit hard with the perspective though.
