It's breezy

I'm new to dSLR's and am impressed with this camera. This picture is through glass, (my wife would tell you it is filthy... ). No PP but it's cropped so the image is about 20% of the original image size.

Thanks to those who recommended cropping over a longer lens.

Awww, what a cute pigeon. I like how you caught him when he was all puffed up like that. I also like the contrast between the grey pigeon and the bright green background. Thanks for sharing this great looking photo.

Thanks. It's funny, s/he wasn't so much "puffed up" as "blown up"... The wind was catching the feathers and lifting them. I just caught it well.

He sure looks nice and snug in that nice big feathery coat that he's got on. I would recommend adding a bit more contrast to this so it doesn't look so plain and flat though, I think he might like that a lot more if you could see more detail when you look at him too.

It's a good shot considering it's thru a window. As jct us101 said, a boost in contrast would help a lot.

I have an old copy of PS 6.0 that I used for repairing scans of old photos years ago. I put the picture in there and auto adjusted the contrast and it made it really dark. So I adjusted it manually to this. Better?
