A quick Helios 44-2 snap
Lens: Helios 44-2 Camera: K20D Photo Location: Living room ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F2

Owning several Helios lenses(4 total), it's quite interesting that its the oldest and cheapest that I keep pulling shots from!
Wide open, no PP other than a little adjustment here and there.

Wonderful portrait!! Sharp, good DoF, and I like the colours.
Don't use my Helios enough.... (have the 44M)

Thx!

Over time, I've collected the 44-2, 44M, 44M-4K and 44M-7.
And oddly enough, I keep coming back to the 44-2.
Even though I'm pretty sure the 44M is identical in terms of bokeh and resolution.
So it may be more of a mind thing than that of a practical one.

I really like this image. I may have cropped the left out slightly though the image is so well done that it works as is. Thank you for sharing. JiM

The kid's expression is priceless. I would have liked to see the focus point more toward the bridge of the nose so both eyes would be more equally in focus.

I also the OOF dark areas to be a bit distracting, I'm thinking it might be a good time to look into some backdrops to help smooth things out.

I agree... I think a "little less DOF" might of been what the bridge needed to make it all work.
I'm going to try again(perhaps Friday) and see if I can't nail this one.
