Denali Panos
Posted By: palmor, 07-25-2007, 10:24 AM

Hi everyone,
I just started the task of weeding through the ~2000 photos I took while I was in Alaska, just going through them to pick out the ones I want to process is a huge task.

Anyway I knew I wanted to process the picts I took for this pano to see how it would come out. I cropped it two different ways. The first crop is the one I like since it focuses much more in the Alaskan Mountain Range and Denali, the second crop wider, showing the campsites and tundra leading up to the range.

We were very lucky that we had so much clear weather, all 3 days we camped at Wonder Lake the mountain was clear. Anyway on to the photos:

Both were taken with the Sigma 17-70 with a total of 23 separate shots stitched together with Autostitch. After stitching I post processed in photoshop for sharpness, contrast, crop etc (followed my normal work flow).

Here is the pbase "large" version which isn't all that large. I'm embedding this one just so the page doesn't take long to load. I also provided the link to the "orginal" 1600x373 photo on pbase. CC welcome

Wow, very nice. I love the colors in both these shots. The large version of the photo almost looks like a painting.

I just started playing around with some panos myself. It's not as easy as you make it look!

Wow - what a beautiful spot. Nice job on creating the panoramas. I personally prefer the second - the green balances it out more for me, plus I like seeing the itty bitty tents echoing the peaks of the mountains.
