I have a feeling it's going to be hard to find contributors for this club

Looking at the second and third shots, the model has the shape of grass imprinted on her left leg - you might want to keep that result in mind when having models sit on the ground.

This lens appears to be pretty sharp, but the backround blur is unimpressive.

I like the series. Blur is subjective, contrast is nice and the shots are sharp. I'd lke to know more about the lens.

I like the second set better - the monochrome version and the pool shot especially.

I prefer bokeh that lookes melted. This one seems to fall in the smeared category, which sometimes can be interesting, sometimes isn't. In the last shot I like it, but I just find it ok otherwise.

I have the lens and love it. These shots were done with a 21mm extension tube added.
iso 100, f/8, 1/250
And best of all the lens was free.

It has been mentioned that this lens is a Pentax K mount, has anyone had any experience of one with an M42 mount, or would that not make a lot of difference?

I would say it is probably the same, just different mount. The registration distance would already be correct.

Another HOYA 200mm member

Hi There
I have just taken delivery of a Hoya 200mm F3.5 lens complete with case. The lens is a pentax K fit and it is in 'as new' condition. It is freezing cold here in the UK at the moment so I will wait for warmer conditions before I start getting some shots but my test shots with a K20d look good. Here is a very quick shot of our 'tame' robin feeding up on mealworms earlier today. This is a section of about 15% of the full frame as a guide to judging the resolution.

Best wishes

DJL

Just bought one for 20 less than an hour ago It's dark right now, but I've enjoyed seeing what it's like under street lights. Very nice! Metal hood is a nice feature, and I think I will be keeping this lens handy whenever I go out and about. Nice and light and a reasonable zoom prime.

Is it's bokeh boken then?? I've got quite a few lenses in my collection now (surprise!) and so am happy to use different ones for different effects. I like this 200mm because it's light
