Even the DA15mm f/4 can have considerable problems with flare and hot spots when used for IR.
Really? I have been told by other IR shooters that the DA15 is the lens for IR and that it has no problem with hot spots. Was considering buying one and a converted camera. Already have the Sigma 8-16 and Pentax 12-24..
thanks

Guys one question for you that own that lens.. How annoying is the fact that you can't see the 8 and 9 mm at the exif and also not able to auto correct on lightroom for example.. Also does this creates any issues with SR?? Thanks in advance..
It doesn't bother me, and I've had no issues with shake reduction. And it's an amazing lens.

Cross posted from post your photos....

I took my grandson over to see City Hall in Toronto. We did see the Henry Moore, but I didn't take a picture of it. There was a lot of work by some very good photographers as well as other artists at this huge show. Other images, a big wedding at St. Andrew's and the old Court House. The SIgma 8-16 was my walk around lens for the day.

According to photozone the 8-16 is corrected ( barrel distortion and pincushion corrected) down to 12mm... if that's what you're asking. But it's still quite good, all the way dow to 8 mm.

Ok so for the IR, the Sigma 8-16 has some times hotspots, some other times don't, but at f8 you can barely see one :

Super image Jably. like the pink foliage. Where did you have the K-01 converted? Have been wondering how the K-01and Sigma 8-16 would work for IR. you have answerd both questions with 1 shot. Now I want a converted camera for my Sigma.
thanks

Thanks barondla !
I bought it from a seller on ebay. Just type "infrared converted" and you'll find him. Indedd, it performs pretty well but not as well as with the FA 31. Also I don't understand why but with the same WB, i get differents colours and rendition between these 2 lenses.

Night falls at the Dresden Semperopera - Handheld.

Next time I am taking a tripod! Such a great city for nocturnal photography. More later I hope!

Verticals corrected in LR5 - such a great new feature, worth the upgrade price alone.

Thanks for looking!

This one was shot at 14mm in order to keep the relative size of the clump of trees reasonable.
