Seems like it's gone a bit quiet here. So here's on from me, taken in Iceland on Friday night. To think I nearly left this lens at home because I was worried about the weight. Glad I brought it - even if the DA* 16-50 was the most used for the rest of the trip.

The plaza in front of the cathedral was small, so I had to back up, leaning against a bordering building even at 8mm, but that also helped me steady the shot. I'd have to check to be sure, but I think this is ISO 12500 and therefore a "textured." I've obviously straightened the image in PP to eliminate converging perspective, but the 8-16 took in enough extra to crop off that i could get the two towers just about parallel.

Nice pic. Don't mind the "textured look" at all. Where was the picture taken?

This is St. Vitus' Cathedral within the royal compound (includes several palaces and a village) in Prague. Aside from St. Vitus, it is the resting place of Saint Wenceslas who, on his way to church, was murdered by his brother. Walls of the chapel containing the saint are covered by medieval paintings of his life that are a world heritage treasure.

I've been watching the spectacular Adelaide sunset via Channel Nine's cricket coverage.

I guess it's a consequence of the bushfires, unfortunately. :-(

Anyone need two guesses to identify this place? Pity the sun was in my face, or nearly so.

Considering the light, I think you did well to minimise flare. A touch more PP would retrieve the colour balance in the upper image as well, but you may have wanted to keep that.

Sometimes, the extra weight is worth it, isn't it? Thanks for sharing.
