Anyone order this lens from adorama ?

It seem like there is 2 prices . $699 and $629

For other mount , price for $629 seem to be grey set . However for pentax mount both are under international warranty .

Is it a typo or ?

Worried I order the wrong one .

Btw , anyone heard any complaint abt focusing issue on this lens ? Hope it's not as bad as compare to the sigm 10-20mm.

Hi Simon

Seems strange to bump into you here. I have not ordered the 8-16mm before only the 10-20mm. The pricing looks like a typo to me. However, I have no experience dealing with such mismatch pricing thus am not sure if Adorama will honour what is stated there.

Had check with adorama . They make a mistake in their website

USD 699 come with international warranty
USD 629 is grey set - Adorama warranty

I had this lens, but have to return due to malfunction electronic (DOA, no auto focus). Sigma quality control?

Can someone explain me what is the grey set?
How can I see different between US guarantee and intl guarantee? what is covered here?

This level of sharpness from an ultra-wide zoom continues to impress me. Though it's not perfect, for an 8-16mm, it has excellent all around image quality.

It impresses me too--no such thing as a pefect lens if you ask me--they are as flawed as the beings who make them. Thumbs up Sigma!

Me too was supprised for the lens IQ.

My copy was returned to the store due to malfunction HSM. If you are not living in the US, I recommend keep away from the grey items. Buy from known store with Sigma international guarantee. The price is about 70 usd in difference, but you don't have to spend 160 usd on return/custom declare fee/insurance when the lens is DOA.

I also have the old Pentax 15mm (film) and compared with the old prints. I think the Sigma may have even better IQ, but I havent conduct a real comparison yet.

i think that the bigest problem with this lens that it is not posible to mount filter on this lens
this limits the use of this lens only in good wether conditions
